The newly established Chimpack Distribution plant, which produces non-woven bags, received a major boost after Buy Zimbabwe endorsed its operations and issued the company with a certificate allowing it to use the organisation’s insignia on its products.
Buy Zimbabwe is the prime and preferred competitive driver of quality Zimbabwean goods and services.
Its insignia is issued to a manufacturer in respect of quality as recognised by a qualified certification or licensing authority.
Buy Zimbabwe general manager, Mr Alois Burutsa led a delegation that inspected the Chimpack manufacturing plant in Kwekwe yesterday.
Mr Burutsa said during the tour they observed the company’s production processes.
“Chimpack recently applied to become a member of our organisation and we are very impressed with what we saw at their plant,” he said.
“The company is producing eco-friendly shopping bags that are degradable and we are very happy with the innovation,” he said.
Mr Burutsa said they issued Chimpack with a membership certificate as they have high-quality products that meet the Buy Zimbabwe standards.
“The company’s manufacturing process is commendable. They are continuing to bring in more machinery to grow their production so that they cater not only for Zimbabwe but for the entire region,” he said.
Chimpack chief executive officer, Engineer Nelson Nemaungwe said they are impressed with the Buy Zimbabwe endorsement.
“We are happy that Buy Zimbabwe has certified that the goods we are manufacturing meet their standards. We are going to make sure that we grow our production so that we also make an impact on the international market,” he said.
