Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Zanu-PF candidate for Mutoko North Cde Mabel Chinomona has described the June White City Stadium bombing as satanic. Cde Chinomona was addressing a rally at Kagande Business Centre in Mutoko when she recounted the incident, which claimed two lives and injured 47.

The rally was her first public appearance since she was released from hospital where she was recovering after suffering injuries during the June 23 bombing.

“I came here to meet you all so that you can see for yourselves that the devil has failed in his mission,” said Cde Chinomona. “Some people were saying I lost my legs, eyes. Others thought I was dead, but no I am still alive.

“Yes, I was injured and went to South Africa for treatment. I still have a problem with my eyes because some object went in there, but soon I will be fine.”

Cde Chinomona said such acts of terrorism should be condemned by peace- loving Zimbabweans.
She urged party supporters to be united and contribute to the development of Mutoko by voting for President Mnangagwa, whom she described as a man of few words, but more action.

“My word to you is to keep on loving one another, be peaceful and be united,” she said. “We need to contribute to the development of this whole province by voting for President Mnangagwa.

“His achievements are there for all to see. We now have a bank for women and a bank for youth empowerment. The banks are for everyone who is committed to self and national development. All that we need to do is to be organised and have focus.”

Cde Chinomona said President Mnangagwa knew that Zimbabwe had rural areas and he had a remarkable plan to uplift the living standards for the rural populace.

“He is a President for all, he has a remarkable plan for people in the rural areas,” she said. “He has already instructed the minister responsible for our roads to address our road challenges in areas around Mutoko, so all of these roads will be usable.”

Cde Chinomona urged party supporters to remain calm and to vote peacefully.
“Let us remain peaceful and calm as we go for our elections,” she said.
“Come July 30, let us all make sure that VaMnangagwa is back in office.”
