BULAWAYO based female entrepreneur Ms Sikhangelweyinkosi Phiri has tapped into the virtual communication platform in order to lure a larger clientele.
This comes as physical business meetings are on the drop due to Covid-19 which has derailed easy flow of business.
The businesswoman’s organisations have also become a hub of employment for youths in the city at a time the pandemic has seen closure of a number of companies.
Ms Phiri said having seen the need to grow her businesses which later translates to an improved country’s economy, she uses the online world to market her work.
“Our current focus is to provide our customers with good services since we are still growing. Covid-19 has really affected us a lot since we are supplying and installing curtains and also branding at people’s premises where some have been reluctant for us to offer our services due to World Health Organisation guidelines in mitigating the spread of coronavirus.
“Through advertising on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and holding virtual communication on platforms like Skype it has helped us a lot in getting clients all over Zimbabwe through educating them on how we operate during the pandemic.
On each occasion either facilitating branding or installing curtains we wear all the required Personal Protective Equipment and disinfect the premises we are to work at which also benefits the end user of our services,” said Ms Phiri.
Ms Phiri said there is need for the Bulawayo business community to advance towards the new normal in bringing about production that benefits the community at large.
“Through growth of local companies, communities largely benefit as employment is created and thereby achieving growing our economy as a whole,” she said.
