A woman from New Magwegwe in Bulawayo is appealing to members of the public to help locate her 17-year-old son who went missing sometime this month.

Tapiwa Chitaunhike, who had visited his grandmother in the rural areas in Shurugwi after writing Ordinary Level examinations at Sizane High School in Bulawayo left home on 22 December to herd cattle and never returned.

Ms Audrey Mushaninga, Chitaunhike’s mother said a search was conducted soon after his disappearance and the only thing they could find were cattle which he was herding, prompting them to file a report to the police.

“He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black pair of trousers and black sandals.

“Chitaunhike is tall, medium built, dark in complexion with brown eyes and black hair,” she said.

Ms Mushaninga said Chitaunhike is mentally stable and she thinks her son might have lost the direction back home and took a wrong turn since he was not familiar with the area.

“Anyone with information regarding Chitaunhike’s whereabouts should report to any nearest police station,” she said.
