RABAT is set to explode into a football spectacle as CAF revealed the finalists for the 2025 CAF Awards, a night where Africa’s finest stars swap boots for suits and chase continental bragging rights.

The glamorous ceremony takes place on Wednesday in Morocco, kicking off at 8 pm and promising fireworks as the continent crowns its kings and queens of the beautiful game. The awards recognise top performances 6 from January to 15 October across club and national duty.

The Men’s Player of the Year race is a heavyweight shootout. Mohamed Salah carries Egypt’s hopes, Achraf Hakimi flies the Moroccan flag high and Victor Osimhen brings Nigerian firepower. Only one will walk away with Africa’s most coveted individual prize.

Goalkeeper of the Year pits Morocco’s Munir Mohamedi and Yassine Bonou against South Africa’s safe hands Ronwen Williams.

Interclub Player of the Year features a strong Moroccan presence with Mohamed Chibi and Oussama Lamlioui, but DR Congo’s Fiston Mayele is ready to spoil the party.

Coach of the Year sees Cape Verde’s Bubista, Morocco’s Mohamed Ouahbi and Walid Regragui eyeing coaching supremacy, while the Young Player category throws rising stars Abdellah Ouazane, Othmane Maamma and South Africa’s Tylon Smith into the spotlight.

National Team of the Year is a three way fight between Cape Verde, Morocco and Morocco U 20, while Club of the Year pits Pyramids against RS Berkane and Mamelodi Sundowns.

On the women’s side Ghizlaine Chebbak, Sanaa Mssoudy and Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade headline the Player of the Year battle. Goalkeeper honours will be contested by Khadija Er Rmichi, Chiamaka Nnadozie and Andile Dlamini.

Some women’s categories, including Coach, Interclub Player and Club of the Year, will be revealed after the CAF Women’s Champions League wraps up in Egypt.

Africa’s finest are lining up and Wednesday night promises glitz, tension and pure football magic.
