MURDER accused, Calisto Murawo, will remain in remand prison after his bail application in the High Court was postponed.

He first appeared before High Court judge, Justice Munamato Mutevedzi, who passed on the matter to Justice Lucy Mungwari.

Justice Mungwari then postponed the matter to July 21.

Calisto is being accused of fatally assaulting David Matambo at Afro 161 Bar and Restaurant, popularly known as KwaBelinda, last month.

According to the court papers, Calisto confronted David and his wife, Zinzi Musonza, in the car park at the bar, accusing Zinzi of swiping another car in the car park.

David went out of the car to check the damage, and while in the process of checking, Calisto punched him on the mouth with a fist with a knuckle duster, and he fell to the ground.

Calisto allegedly kicked David on the head and neck before stamping on his neck.

It is alleged that Calisto then fled to Cranborne where he dumped his car and went into hiding.

He then surrendered to the police two days later.
