THE director of Protocol in the Office of the African union Disability Ambassador, Dr Marble Daniel, says a lot of students at St Giles have potential and need to be assisted to realise that potential at the tertiary level or through acquiring other skills.

She made the remarks in an interview with Zimpapers Online at the St Giles Disability Expo today.

“Even the AI trend, we have two courses right now which we curated and we are certifying ourselves,” she said.

“We have a partnership with the University of Luxembourg, which gives us 25 seats for four terms in a year for persons with disabilities from my ambassador’s office and we also do workplace inclusion.

“We have advocated a lot for that in Zimbabwe, with a couple of hotels in Harare and they have employed people with disabilities.”

The expo attracted various stakeholders, including the City of Harare, which was partnering St Giles.

The Harare City Council participated in the expo after being invited by St Giles, who wanted to partner it on wellness issues.

The council adopted a workplace policy in February last year. The local authority was taking advantage of the expo to learn how to assist its employees on wellness issues.
