Calm before the storm!

All is set for what promises to be an exciting penultimate round of action in the Paramount Garments Under-20 Rugby League on Saturday.

The Harare Machinery Exchange Stadium is the venue, with action kicking off at 12.30pm.

But the sad news is that there will be no women’s action, who sit out this round of action.

In the premiership division, Pitbulls go into the weekend on pole position with 20 points, as they were largely unaffected by their inactivity in the last round.

In their stead, Old Georgians also maintained their unbeaten record with a clinical 22-12 win over ASC and now trail the log leaders by six points.

The two sides, Pitbulls and OGs, clash this weekend in the all-important match-up, in which the overall winner will have home advantage in the final next weekend.

ASC (9), Southern City, Harare Sports Club (5) and Old Hararians (0) wrap up the Premiership table, with Harare Sports Club and Southern City hoping to end the season on a high, when the two sides meet.

Pride and points will be at stake, as the two are currently on five points each.

There will only be one match in the Paramount Division 1 as Raiders look to seal their slot in the play-off match against Old Hararians next week.

The unbeaten log leaders have a date against the Domboshava-based ZIMBIRU.

Raiders currently top the log standings, unbeaten on 15 points but Mabvuku, on 13 points, look to be sniffing on the heels, and will need nothing short of a bonus point win to ensure they make to next week’s all important promotional clash against OH.

XP Horns (11), ZIMBIRU (5), Marondera Talons (4) and Mufakose (0) wrap up the Division One log standings.

FIXTURES

ZIMBIRU v FS Raiders 12:30pm

Pitbulls v Old Georgians 2pm

Harare Sports Club v Southern City 3:30pm
