In a swift crackdown on high-tech thievery, a Harare court has slammed the brakes on bail for two cunning car thieves, accused of swiping four vehicles using duplicate keys.
In a statement, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said in the early hours of 20 July 2024, the suspects struck at the Sunningdale 2 Shops Bus Terminus Car Park, making off with a silver Honda Fit worth US$4 500.
In the dead of night on 3 August 2024, they targeted Kuwadzana 6’s Gazzlers Nite Club, and stole a blue Honda Fit at 2am.
That very same day a silver Honda Fit was stolen from the Xing Xeng Nite Club in Belgravia, around 10:20pm.
On 3 May 2024, around 11:30 pm, they made off with a beige Toyota Corolla worth US$1 250 at the Xing Xeng Nite Club in Belgravia, Harare.
Fortunately all the vehicles were recovered.
