Imbibers and foodies enjoyed a memorable weekend at this year’s Castle Lager Braai Festival held at Old Hararians last Saturday in Harare.
Known for attracting thousands of festival-goers, this year’s edition lived up to expectations with an impressive turnout.

The entertainment line-up was headlined by Winky D, who delivered a flawless performance. Love him or loathe him, the Ninja President is undeniably one of Zimbabwe’s finest entertainers, effortlessly captivating the audience. His performance could only be described as magical, showcasing his incredible talent with a playlist of sing-along hits.
Top South African dance sensation Kamo Mphela also took to the stage, performing for less than an hour but leaving fans thoroughly entertained. Exuding confidence, the 24-year-old former internet sensation showcased her innovative spirit with club bangers like “Twente”, “Suka Emabozen”, “Meneme” and “Sbwl”, a collaboration with South African singer Busiswa. Her stage presence and interaction with the crowd made her act stand out, solidifying her reputation as a top performer.
Not to be outdone, rising star Master H delivered a show-stopping performance, reaffirming the faith that Delta Beverages has placed in him. With a rich catalogue of songs including “Dhanzi”, “Zviri Mumoyo”, and “Nawanadem”, Master H proved that Zimdancehall is here to stay.

“The guy is in a league of his own. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I used to underrate Zimdancehall, but he proved me wrong. You can only disapprove of this act out of ignorance,” said a fan known only as Mhofela.
Event organisers prioritised festival-goers’ security, ensuring maximum safety for all attendees. The stage and lighting were exceptional, fitting the grandeur of the festival, and all acts performed to perfection.
Fans are now calling for consistency from artistes, urging them to bring the same energy they showcase at major festivals to their weekly gigs.
This year’s Castle Lager Braai Fest rounded out October as one of the busiest months on the entertainment calendar, which also included high-profile events like the Kadoma Music Festival, Vhara Matare Festival, and Girl Fest.
Despite some challenges this year, October has proven that fans continue to value their entertainment experiences. The Castle Lager Braai Fest will be remembered for honouring young talent like Master H and Kamo Mphela, who are trending due to their hard work and dedication to their craft.
