THE 2016 Castle Tankard horse racing date has been set and will take place on May 7 at Borrowdale race course. Delta marketing manager, Patricia Murambinda, said they have doubled up the prices if the winners are at the race course on race day. “The first three prizes will be doubled up if the winners are at the race course on race day as this year marks an important history together with our partners Mashonaland Turf Club.
“This is the first time those consumers of all lager beer brands participating in the running will get an opportunity to get their grand draw prize money doubled up by Castle on the grand draw day if they are present at the draw.
“This exciting news also comes at the back of Castle, the biggest beer brand in the clear beer portfolio, unveiling a new communication for the brand ‘where everything comes together’,” said Murambinda. The Castle Tankard Horse Racing event is the first sponsored horse race in Africa and remains the most prestigious horse race in Zimbabwe.
Castle Lager’s relationship with horse racing dates back to around 1904. This year’s event will feature a lot of exciting activities which include entertainment from Jah Prayzah, Winky D, XQ and DJ Stavo.
