An assistant security manager with Catercraft Private Limited, Tobias Mapanda, is facing allegations of sexually harassing female employees and threatening them with dismissal if they report his misconduct.

The case, initially set to be heard at the Epworth Circuit Magistrates Court, was referred to the company by vetting prosecutor Mrs Netsai Mushayabasa, who argued that the matter qualifies as an administrative issue rather than a criminal one.

Sources claim the three women had previously reported the harassment to the company’s managing director, Mr Wilberforce Chitiga.

However, it is alleged that no action was taken.

One of the victims who reported the harassment to company management, contacted the Robert Mugabe International Airport Police Station and an official complaint was recorded under RRB Number 4808968.

However, the other three women hesitated to come forward, fearing that they would lose their jobs due to Mapanda’s threats.
