Jordan Williams and Kumbirai Bere scored for the Bulawayo boys.
Coach Ntandoyenkosi Sibindi lauded his team’s effort and said it was always tough to play away from home.
“The team did very well and to reach the finals in a hostile environment is commendable. We were hit by injuries but the good thing is that the boys who replaced the injured played very well hence we reached the finals,” Sibindi said.
CBC had earlier lost 4-2 to Mount Edmund in the group stages with their two goals coming from Andresious Cyprianos and Zibusiso Ndiweni.
First they beat Durban’s St Andrews 4-2 in their friendly last Tuesday before they went back to Johannesburg on Wednesday for the tournament.
They lost the opening match to Mount Edmund.
The team later dismissed St Boniface from Kimberley 2-1 with goals coming from Williams and Bere again and they continued their run with a 2-0 triumph over St Dominics from Welkom in the Free State and their goals came from Cyprianos and Bere.
They capped their group games with an emphatic 10-1 win over the hosts Veritas College to progress to the semi-finals.
Cyprianos made the difference in CBCs 1-0 win over Mariasdale to send the Bulawayo team to the finals.
Cyprianos was voted one of the tournament’s eleven outstanding players.
