Cde Mutero buried

Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association secretary-general, Cde Shadreck Makombe said Zanu-PF had lost a shrewd, articulate and meticulous administrator.
“Cde Mutero was a revolutionary leader who left us a legacy that needs to be greatly safeguarded,” he said.

Cde Mutero was born on 8 February 1958 in Masvingo district under Chief Charumbira. He joined the liberation struggle in 1976 and undertook training at Chimoio military camp in Mozambique. He went for further training at Tembwe training camp where he also qualified as a nurse.

Cde Mutero was deployed in the Mutetengwe operation area of Gaza province before being transferred to the Department of Information and Publicity in Maputo, where he worked until ceasefire.

After independence, Cde Mutero joined the then Ministry of Information and Tourism before he went to Yugoslavia to study for a diploma in journalism. He is survived by his wife Bernadette and four children and six grandchildren.
