Celebrating Zimbabwe’s heritage

We are celebrating continued resilience and patriotism. The life of Cde Mugabe deserves to be credited as it is a life that has been selflessly lived for protection of our African pride and Zimbabwean wealth and heritage.
It is of great importance in this year’s celebrations to also teach the youths about the significance of the life of every Zimbabwean.
This is the time to celebrate the life of a gallant freedom fighter. We are celebrating a life which has been dedicated to the liberation of the black majority in Zimbabwe.
The 21st February Movement celebrations are a time to reflect where we are and what we will be tomorrow. This is simply because we are what we are because of where we are coming from and it is only when we refer to history that we can really see where we are going.
Even though to some people it may be hard to really agree that we were in bondage when we were being ruled by the white man, the truth is we lost our identity as Africans because of the dehumanisation which we were subjected to by the whites. We can never look down upon what President Mugabe has done for the nation during and after the liberation war.
The President dedicated his life from his youth to liberating this country from the hands of the British and their allies. He has shown beyond reasonable doubt that he is a resilient leader even when he is facing hatred from the so-called great powers. It is because of his unwavering endeavour that today we stand as a free nation.
President Mugabe and other heroes like Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo and Cde Simon Muzenda, to mention only a few, gallantly fought for the liberation of this nation.
This was after they realised that when the white man was taking our land, cattle and other natural resources, he was not only stripping us of being Africans but was also taking away our African pride. They did not sit down but they fought hard for the liberation of this country.
The President, even after the liberation war, did not forget what was being fought for.
He gave land back to the black people through the land reform programme. His strength and determination was also seen when he did not back down even when the international community imposed illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe.
The President has amazingly carried on with the struggle even years after independence because of his desire to see a totally liberated Zimbabwe. It is a shame that it is our learned people who are sabotaging the gains of the liberation struggle.
They are the ones who are calling for sanctions. These so-called enlightened leaders do not even have a clear picture of what they are fighting for as they are fighting against the wishes of those people who they claim they are fighting for.
They are there to deceive the whole nation into believing that they are there to liberate it while the actual fact is they want to give the country back to the hands of colonisers.
They are like a prodigal son who would refuse when his father gives him his inheritance which was in a stranger’s possession and fights his father telling him to take back the inheritance to the stranger.
This is what people who are against the idea of indigenisation are like.
Their minds are still colonised, but how do you expect to eradicate poverty when we don’t empower the people economically? Most of them are the ones who are “eating” a lot of money because now they are in Government.
They do not have the people’s interests at heart. All they want is to eat and develop tummies. We would      like to thank the President for his resilience on such people. Thus it is of great importance that we stand to guide and protect our spirit of ubuntu and our African pride  as the President has always said.
We cannot allow the immoral values of the Western countries to penetrate into our lovely Zimbabwe, we cannot allow gays and lesbians to invade our society.
This year’s 21st February Movement celebrations are not only about the life of the President but also about Zimbabwe as a whole and how we have stood for the truth.
We have refused as Zimbabweans to allow western countries to invade Zimbabwe by standing with the President even in difficult times.
The President deserves to be praised by all the youths because he has created the most effective educational policies which have seen Zimbabwe emerge as one of the most literate countries not only in Africa but in the world.
The youths have immensely gained from the policies to empower them.
It is, however, our cry to the President that he continues to assist students in their education as he is our visionary leader who sees a bright future in education while others are there to block all the policies that empower us as youths and black people as a whole.
Our message to the President is that may our good Lord continue to guide and protect you and even lead you to greater wisdom in your leadership. Happy birthday.
