THE family of former Dynamos defender, Tineyi “Josefa Waiva Wakanaka” Chamunorwa, say they have lost a loving father.
Chamunorwa, who was 55, died here yesterday. He had not been feeling well for some time now.
His eldest daughter, Sheena, told H-Metro that the family has lost a loving father.“We’ve lost a dear father and we’ll miss him so much, he was on-off in hospital and, of late he was much better but God has other reasons.”
Chamunorwa will be buried at Manyewe Village in Mhondoro-Ngezi tomorrow.He is survived by his wife, Constance Bazari, and three children.
Mourners are gathered in Rimuka.
The former Dynamos, Fire Batteries and Arcadia United defender was born in Kadoma where he honed his skills on the streets of Rimuka.
His first break into football was when he joined Kadoma “Yematomati” United, which was then coached by another former Dynamos defender, Shadreck Ngwenya.
He was lured to the capital by Gijima Msindo’s Fire Batteries, where he became an instant hit in the heart of defence.He then crossed the floor to join Dynamos where he played alongside the likes of Ernest Chirambadare,Tonde Mutambikwa, Kaitano Tembo, Watson Muhoni and captain Memory Mucherahohwa under Sunday Chidzambwa.
After hanging his boots, Chamunorwa turned to coaching and returned to his boyhood club, Kadoma United.
He later coached Lake Harvest in Kariba.
