Channel 2 has a lot to offer

programmes there are a number of local shows that are equally informative.
One of the programmes that caught my attention was a star profile show where they featured one of youngest entrepreneurs Tawanda Mutyebere.
Judging from the interview, it appears Mutyebere has achieved a lot in his businesses in a short period of time.
Just in his early 30s, Mutyebere has won numerous awards including 2011 Zimbabwe Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year, Customer Service Excellence Awards and the Manager of the Year as well as the Standard Association of Zimbabwe Excellence Service Award.
Mutyebere is the chief executive of Chicken Slice, a subsidiary of Con Tools Holdings. In the interview, he narrated his humble beginnings up to where he is now as the man at the top of the fledgling fast food business. It was an interesting story of a man who rose from nothing to become a businessman of sorts.
And still on programming, DStv announced changes on its bouquets. They launched a new satellite which offers DStv an opportunity to add more channels and services.
In order to accommodate these new channels and to make channel navigation more user-friendly, they simply rearranged the channels into genres which has resulted in some of the channel positions and hence numbers changing. It is hoped that the new channel numbering will help overall navigation and viewing experience on DStv.
We are also told that there is going to be little disruption as they make the changes — for example the news, children’s and sports channels will not change channel numbers.
The changes will happen automatically on the morning of 1 October 2012, and you do not need to do anything on your decoder except ensure that it remains plugged into your power source.
The only challenge is that those with PVR decoders would need to change their settings, viewing requirements and re-schedule all your recordings including time based recordings.
High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) channels
The M-Net HD and SD channels on the same channel number. For example, M-Net and M-Net HD will be on channel 101 from 1 October 2012.
This means that if you are a DStv Premium customer with a High Definition (HD) PVR, you will now receive M-Net HD on channel 101 from 1 October.
SuperSport HD channels will not be on the same channel as SuperSport SD channels due to slight variations in scheduling and content. Additionally, Discovery HD Showcase which is an HD channel only will stand alone as there is no SD version.
Themed movie channels now in HD
M-Net will replace its MM1 and MM2 movie offering and expand it to 6 movie channels, 1 premiere and 5 themed channels: M Premiere, M Action +, M Family, M Comedy, M Drama and Romance, and M Showcase. These channels will all be available in HD.
Movies released by Hollywood studios will first be screened on M Premiere or on M-Net on a Sunday night at 8pm. Thereafter, the movie will be screened again on the relevant themed channel. The themed channels will also screen niche movies related to that theme.
The change to themed movie channels makes it easier for you to find a movie that appeals to your mood or taste — simply go to the relevant themed channel.
More High Definition Channels
In addition to the themed movie channels, Studio Universal and Universal will also be made available in HD.
This means that you will get 7 additional HD channels on 1 October, bringing to 14 the total number of HD channels on DStv.
Other new channels
Over and above the HD channels, there will be a Standard Definition channel Africa Magic Movies 1 added on.
