ASAH Zimusi and Lisa Tanyanyiwa atoned for Zimbabwe netball clubs’ failure to win the recent Confederation of Southern Africa Netball Associations tournament by winning individual prizes in the tournament which ended in Harare at the weekend.
It is an event in which top local club that plays in the Nedbank Premier League, Chapungu came out the third best among 14 teams.
Tanyanyiwa won the best shooter award. Her accuracy, composure and consistency set her apart from the rest among goal shooters as Chapungu raced to a decent third place finish.
Chapungu, beat fellow Zimbabwe side Makate High Flyers 44-39 for third spot as Zimusi shone in defence for the Airforce of Zimbabwe side.
Zimusi was adjudged the best defender of the tournament. She was also recognised for her discipline and determination.
The teams that participated at thin the tournament were from Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and Zambia.
These include Makate High flyers, Harare City, Chapungu Queens, Lesotho Correctional, Lesotho Police, Qnek, Royal
Flames, NAPSA, Buffaloes, Green Eagles, Kitwe, Namibia Correctional, Nampol and Unam Ogongo.
