Chapungu wary of DeMbare

AIRMEN Chapungu could not have asked for a worse time to face reigning league champions Dynamos who seem to be enjoying a new lease of life in the topflight league. “Waru Waru” still smarting from a 0-2 loss at the hands of Castle Lager Premiership returnees Bantu Rovers host Dynamos at Ascot Stadium tomorrow.

After managing two draws against Bulawayo giants, Highlanders and How Mine, before registering a win against Black Rhinos, the Gweru based outfit saw their three-match unbeaten run going up in  smoke.

Chapungu gaffer John Nyikadzino acknowledged that it will be a tall order to overcome a Dynamos side which seems to have found its footing after registering two back-to-back victories with the last one being a 3-1 win over Harare City which powered the Harare giants to the top of the log standings.

He said his charges would have to apply themselves positively if they are to come out with a positive result.
“It is no secret that Dynamos is the team of the moment as evidenced by the good results they have been posting of late. As a team we have prepared for them but the boys need to put an extra effort if we are to win,” he said.

Following his side’s loss to Bantu Rovers, Nyikadzino’s critics are now questioning his rotation system.
However, he was quick to defend the move saying each match is a different ball game which requires new tactics.

He continued: “I am not implementing a rotation system but I am fielding players depending on the opposition we are facing and the tactics which apply on the day. In some instances some changes are injury induced and there is nothing that I can do about that.”

However, the unveiling of a new kit by BancABC and other packages believed to be worth about $200,000 could prove to be the motivation the airmen need to halt DeMbare.
