Cheating woman demands maintenance

A Mucheke woman in Masvingo who was allegedly caught in a compromising position with a church pastor in her matrimonial bedroom took her husband by surprise when she dragged him to court for $1 490 maintenance of their four children that she dumped nine months ago.
The children were left in the custody of their father, Peter Chikwama (40) following the wife Mutsa Marara’s disappearance over her alleged shenanigans with a pastor.

Chikwama has also dragged the pastor to the same court demanding $10 000 in adultery damages and the case is awaiting magistrate Dorothy Mwanyisa’s ruling.

The case, however, could not kick off last week as the respondent,  Chikwama was not properly served with court papers.

Sometime last year Chikwama, who is a cross border trader, left for his rural area leaving Marara (32) and their four minor children at home in Mucheke. According to the court papers Chikwama returned the same day without his wife’s knowledge and found the two love-birds in a compromising position in their bedroom while the children were playing in the kitchen.

He said he got angry and assaulted the two, and his wife then got him arrested for the assault. When he was released the following day, he found the children alone at home and Marara had long-ran away, only to come back last week, nine months later, demanding maintenance.
The case is yet to be heard in court.
