THE Chevrons refused to roll over as day two of the Test showdown with Bangladesh ended in a tense tug-of-war — and it was Zimbabwe’s rookie sensation, Vincent Masekesa, who stole the spotlight!
Despite Bangladesh’s blazing start — with Shadman Islam and Anamul Haque putting up a mammoth 118-run opening stand — the visitors clawed their way back into the contest, leaving the Tigers on a shaky 291/7 by stumps.

Shadman Islam hammered his second Test century (120 off 181 balls), anchoring the innings while veteran Mushfiqur Rahim chipped in with 40. But the day belonged to the Chevrons’ debutant, Masekesa, who tore through the middle order with fiery figures of 3/44 in just 14 overs!

Earlier, Zimbabwe’s innings was wrapped up in brutal fashion — Taijul Islam striking with the very first ball of the day to end the innings at 227, finishing with an impressive 6/60.
Wellington Masakadza and Brian Bennett also joined the wicket-taking party, helping slow down Bangladesh’s momentum after a dominant start.

With the Tigers leading by just 64 runs and three wickets in hand, the stage is set for a cracking day three.
Can Masekesa and company finish the job? The claws are out!
