ZIMBABWE’S senior men’s cricket team will sharpen their blades against Namibia in a three match T20 International series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo as they count down to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier.
The games on September 15, 16 and 18 give both sides a final dress rehearsal for the qualifier, which runs in Harare from September 26 to October 4. Eight teams will battle there for two coveted slots at the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
The Chevrons head into the Bulawayo clashes with confidence, sticking with the side that recently pushed Sri Lanka hard before losing their home series 2-1. Head coach Justin Sammons said they want to turn those positives into sharper performances.
“It’s important that we build on the positives from the Sri Lanka series,” Sammons said. “These matches will demand our very best as we focus on refining our plans, finalising our combinations, and ensuring we are both confident and battle-hardened for the qualifier.”
Zimbabwe Cricket has confirmed that admission to all three matches will be free, a move expected to pull in strong home crowds and lift the team’s energy.
