ZIMBABWE are aiming to finish their home T20 series in style today when they meet Namibia at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. With two convincing wins already secured, the Chevrons have wrapped up their first-ever T20 series triumph over the Eagles and now want to turn it into a clean 3–0 sweep.
Tuesday’s five-wicket victory, built on sharp bowling that limited Namibia to 169/9 and a measured chase to 170/5 in 18.1 overs, put the series beyond doubt. It followed Monday’s 33-run win in which Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani struck half centuries to power Zimbabwe to 211/3 before the attack restricted the visitors to 170/5.
Coach Justin Sammons and his men see today’s game as more than a dead rubber. They view it as the perfect launch pad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier that starts next Thursday in Harare.
“This series win is a massive confidence booster for the Chevrons as they head into the continental tournament,” said team officials, noting the side’s improved balance between bat and ball.
In the qualifier, Zimbabwe are drawn in Group B with Uganda, Botswana and Tanzania. They open against Uganda on Friday, September 26 at Harare Sports Club, followed by Botswana on Sunday, September 28, and Tanzania on Tuesday, September 30. The top two in each group proceed to the semi-finals, and the winners will secure spots at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Fans in Bulawayo have one more chance to watch free international cricket today. The first ball is scheduled for 1.30pm, and organisers are urging supporters to fill Queens Sports Club to back the team’s bid for a 3–0 whitewash.
Cricket action will not stop when the men’s series ends. The Lady Chevrons host the United Arab Emirates next week at the same venue in a white-ball contest of four One Day Internationals and two T20Is, beginning with a warm up match on Wednesday.
