In what could be aptly described as the reincarnation of John Chibadura, the late sungura godfather’s sons, Simba, Knowledge and John who constitute Chiba dura Brothers will descend on Mutare on Saturday for their maiden gig at the entertainment joint. The three have successfully revived Mr Chitungwiza’s music and are expected to belt a litany of songs plucked from their late father’s rich discography.
Veteran wordsmith, Hosiah Chipanga will curtain up the Easter festivities with a performance on Thursday.
Madziro
The entertainment joint situated along the Mutare-Chimanimani Highway on Saturday hosts Mutare’s fastest rising dance outfit, Retaliation Blurze. Host deejay, Candyman, will also be part of the festivities dubbed ‘Easter Fiesta’. The open air joint will start the carnival as early as 10am and activities for kids such as jumping castles and face paintings will also be available.
Vida Da Pass
Afro pop musician, Lionel ‘Caff’ Matanda who is riding high with new party song ‘Wangele’ will perform at the recently-renovated entertainment joint situated at the foot of Christmas Pass. The gig, scheduled for Saturday, headlines the venue’s Easter holidays festivities with local deejays also set to perform.
Micasa
The packed Easter itinerary begins tonight (Thursday) with the Ladies and Karaoke Night, followed by tomorrow’s Old Skool Fridays and New Skool Saturdays respectively. Wheel spinners Frazer and Terminator will lead the sessions that will stretch up to Wednesday next week.
Chitsa Sports Bar
Deejays Spillz, Kiss, Nasty, Wizzy will be on rotation tonight and tomorrow. Saturday, the joint hosts the Clash of Old and New Skool deejays where Yellow G, Nasty and Spillz will clash. Ragga Manyika outfit, Assegai Crew, will perform on Sunday.
