INCOMING Chicken Inn coach Rahman a?Rusha? Gumbo says he went to the highest bidder.

Therefore, money won the day for Chicken Inn ahead of teams such as Dynamos who had registered interest in the former Warriors midfielder.

a?Football is now business, before I took the Chicken Inn job other offers came along. At one time I thought of joining Dynamos but Chicken InnA came up with a better offer,a? Gumbo said at a press conference.

On the domestic front Gumbo has coached Highlanders, Motor Action, Caps United and FC Platinum.

He bounces back to Bulawayo after 15 years having had coaching stints in Malawi and Botswana where he won league titles.

a?It feels good to be back in Bulawayo after 15 years. I left the city in 2001. Iam happy that I have joined defending champions. It is a challenge to me. Chicken Inn is becoming a big brand and I thought of becoming part of it. I also thought it was time for me to be close to my family,a? said Gumbo.

a?To be frank, Iam one of the big coaches in this country. I have been watching local football, there have been positive and negative developments but it is a question of whatA I will bring to the local game. The sky is the limit. I want to do more than I have done before. Chicken Inn have been in the champions league and I have been there too so I want a step higher,a? he added.

For now he needs to familiarise with players.

a?I have worked with Joey (Antipas) before. We are good friends and so my immediate target is to get to know the players very well. They (players) also need to know me and we set our targets,a? he said.

The esteemed coach is expected to recommend his first assistant coach.

a?At the moment, I cannot reveal the person who will be my first assistant coach. I will have to first recommend the assistant to the executive,a? said the former Dream Team member.

Antipas will join AmaZulu on 1 July and he recommended his lieutenant Prince Matore to the club. Gamecocks secretary general Tawengwa Hara, however, confirmed that Sikhumbuzo a?Chinaa? Banda and Julius Ndlovu would maintain their positions as team manager and goalkeepers coach respectively.
