Chicken Inn to camp in Inyathi

In their maiden PSL season last year, Chicken Inn went for a similar camp in Esigodini under the tutelage of Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube.
Former Warriors and Highlanders striker Adam Ndlovu, who was given the full responsibility of the fast food outlets-sponsored club, said he wanted to have some time with the players to cultivate teamwork.
“There are a number of guys that have joined us and to make sure that everyone pulls in the same direction there is a need for us to go on an uninterrupted training camp for a week or two. I am not at liberty to disclose what we will be doing there but among other things we want to cultivate team spirit and prepare for the forthcoming soccer season,” Ndlovu said.
Fading Bulawayo giants Highlanders used to prefer Inyathi for their training camps.
Ndlovu roped in former Railstars coach and national Under-20 men’s team assistant coach Mandla ‘Lulu’ Mpofu into their technical team to deputise him.
The club has also attracted a number of experienced players that include ex-Hwange and FC Platinum striker Simon Njeleza, former Mwana Africa and Highlanders goalkeeper Lovemore Makwavarara, the trio of Munyaradzi Diya, Abraham Mbaiwa and Kevin ‘Skopo’ Sibanda who turned out for Zimbabwe Saints last season.
Ndlovu moved swiftly during the festive holiday to lure Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League 2011 top goal scorer, Lenience ‘Qobho’ Mpofu, with 25 goals to his account
“There are a number of players that we are interested in and of course we cannot accommodate everyone so others will be going. I am still working on my final list,” said Ndlovu.
Already Chicken Inn lost Thandazani Ndlovu and Morris Kadzola to FC Platinum and Motor Action respectively.
Goalkeeper Liberty Chirava who was on a season’s loan from Bantu Rovers might also be on his way out.
Their top striker Evans Chikwaikwai who joined the club during the mid-season transfer window, Canaan Nkomo, Thomas Chimenya, Njabulo Nyoni, Heritani Masuku, Daniel Zokoto, Guide Goddard, Thabani Goredema and Felix Chindungwe are some of the surviving members from last season.
