CHIEF CHARUMBIRA HOSTS CHURCH, TRADITIONAL LEADERS

CHIEF Fortune Charumbira hosted church and traditional leaders at his homestead in Masvingo on Sunday.

The Pan-African Parliament president emphasised the importance of traditional and church leaders working together to uphold community moral values.

He hailed church leaders for skipping their traditional Sunday services to conduct prayers in his traditional court.

“The relationship between traditional and church leaders is like fish and water,” said Chief Charumbira.

“We have the same mandate of building families, upholding community moral values, fighting crime, comforting the society, settling disputes, giving honour to the Almighty God and developing the nation, among other roles.

The church leaders, under the banner of Working with People Trust, honoured Chief Charumbira according to traditional custom by donating two residential stands to him and president of the Chiefs Council, Chief Mtshana Khumalo.

Trust director, Apostle Benjamin Joseph Murata, also handed over 20 bicycles and 800 pieces of clothing to villagers, and promised to continue engaging with traditional leaders to help vulnerable people in society.”

He added:

“As Working with the People Trust, we are targeting vulnerable people in society by engaging church and traditional leaders.

“We have teams on the ground in all 10 provinces and we will not stop until the second coming of Jesus Christ.

“Our Bible verses encourage us to look out for the elderly and local authorities in every place or city we want to minister in.

“We thank Chief Charumbira for according us the chance to receive a blessing through his wise words and to plant our seeds in his community,” said Apostle Murata.
