Chiefs hail President

of cash to finance their farming operations.

The hectarage under Zunde Ramambo, said the chiefs, had quadrupled throughout the country this year after they were given the responsibility to distribute inputs, especially seed under the programme.

On average, chiefs this year grew between five and 10 hectares under Zunde Ramambo compared to between two and five hectares in other previous seasons.
However, several chiefs decried a crippling shortage of fertilisers and erratic rains in some parts of the country which they said were going to severely affect yields from the Zunde Ramambo programme.
