Chikuhwa strike seals hard-fought win for Chicken Inn over Simba Bhora at Barbourfields

CHICKEN Inn have held on for a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Barbourfields Stadium, edging past Simba Bhora in a tightly contested Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter.
The hosts took the lead in the 18th minute through Lynoth Chikuhwa, who reacted quickest to tap home after Francis Mostafa’s low strike caused problems for William Thole. It was a goal that separated the two sides after a cagey opening spell where Chicken Inn enjoyed slightly more control in possession.
Simba Bhora improved after the break and came close early in the second half when Harrison Masina wasted a promising opening, firing wide after hesitating in a dangerous position. The visitors then piled on pressure in the closing stages, setting up camp in the Chicken Inn half as they searched desperately for an equaliser.
However, Chicken Inn defended resolutely.
