VETERAN coach Paul “Popopo” Chimalizeni says he is ready for any challenge and is happy with the response from ZPC Kariba players since he was asked to help the team’s technical staff.Chimalizeni, who came in as the team manager, was asked to help coach the team after Saul Chaminuka and his assistant, Godfrey Tamirepi, were dismissed.

“At the moment we are trying to maintain the team the way it is, morale is high, which is good,” said Chimalizeni.

“I can take any challenge, as I am a coach by profession so no obstacle can arise for me if I can get a chance of being head coach but my focus and target now is to ensure that the team continues to do well.

Chimalizeni is working together with Oliver Matava in the technical team.

ZPC Kariba chairman Munyaradzi Nduna reiterated that Chaminuka was not fired even though the coach has said he won’t return to the club.

“The two coaches, Chaminuka and Tamirepi, were not fired, they were only suspended,” said Nduna.
