Chimanimani woman perishes after rockslide

A Chimanimani woman died recently after being struck by two huge rocks while harvesting sand in a stream.

Tecla Tumbare was confirmed dead upon arrival at Chipinge District Hospital after sustaining severe injures all over her body.

Police confirmed the incident that occurred in Bvumisai Village under Chief Ngorima.

Tecla and her two neighbours, Tendai Zhuwawa and Sekai Musasa, had gone to Gomba Stream to collect sand for dish washing when the incident occurred.

As they were digging, two big rocks hit Tecla and she sustained multiple fractures on her ribs.

She was rushed to Ngorima Clinic before being transferred to Chipinge District Hospital.
