BODYBUILDER Isaac “Sugar Sugar” Chimuchenga will be eyeing a treble in today’s Mr and Ms Ironman scheduled for 1+1 Long Cheng in Harare today. The event will see over 100 athletes taking part in different categories which include senior men and junior men (Under-19 and 23 ), among others. Chimuchenga will face competition from reigning Mr Manicaland Brighton “Wasu” Mazikana, Eddie Marondera, Blessing Nyapimbi and Brian Saundombe, among others.
National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness spokesperson Quiet Shangai said all was set for the Mr and Ms Ironman contest.
This year veteran bodybuilder Regina Jonga will not be able to make it for this contest. The South Africa-based top athlete was supposed to headline the country’s second biggest bodybuilding contest.
Jonga, who has since run out of competition locally, was supposed to be a guest poser so as to inspire other female bodybuilders but she has personal issues to attend to. The event will have several sponsors who came on board and they include Greetings Pharmacy, Cancer Pharmacy, 1+1 Longcheng, Kingsport, Profitness Health Club and Astro Mobile.
The event will see heavyweights Isaac “Sugar” Chimuchenga, Eddie Marondera, Lazarus Shereni, Lovemore Manyamana, Brighton Mazikana, Eliah Samaringa and Brian Saundombe battling it out.
Registration will begin on the day at 8am while the event will start at 11am.
