THE Chinese community reckons entertainment can unite societies as they seek to continue strengthening their relationship with Zimbabwe through culture after launching a new casino in Harare.
The launch was held recently where different performers showcased their talents in fashion, poetry, music and beatboxing.
Situated at Lisboa Entertainment Centre, Shangri-La along Emmerson Mnangagwa Road, Happy Sunday Casino is meant to unite everyone.
The owners also commended Zimbabweans for their warm reception.
The casino’s chairperson, Huang, said they are happy with the development as it seeks to unite Zimbabweans and Chinese communities.
“This one year made us feel that we have made the right choice and appreciate that Harare is a great place.
“It has a pleasant climate, beautiful environment, and great and kind people.
“The Chinese people in Zimbabwe also love and help each other, a great sign of the traditional virtues of China,” she said.
Huang said they have received support and help from all sectors of the Zimbabwean community, including the police, immigration and other Government departments, as well as the Chinese community in Zimbabwe.
“The support enabled us to quickly adapt to the Zimbabwean environment and get our business on the right track.
“As Lisboa Entertainment Centre, we would like to appreciate all of you for your great support, love and care.
“Lisboa is a home to all our friends.
“Our casino, karaoke and accommodation services are all important brands. We provide a safe, clean and pleasant environment for our compatriots to feel at home.
“We seem to have few casinos in Harare, it is such creations that make and promote the tourism sector of a country.”
Artists such as Fusion 5 Mangwiro, Mwenje Mathole, Tafara, among others, who are part of the Dreamstar initiative which uplifts local talent, performed at the launch.
