Chinese dances, bowl juggling on bicycles, gymnastics and also some bit of magic.
The pupils from Zhong Guan Cun Primary School in Beijing, China, showcased their acrobatic, poetry, magic and opera skills in a very captivating manner.
The most impressive performances were from the umbrella juggler and the carpet spinner who defied the laws of gravity, as they skilfully held on to umbrellas while in mid-air.
Some of the acts included spinning different items around with different body parts and at times doing moves that seemed impossible.
The performers, some of them as young as nine not only entertained the crowd but also did an incredible job showcasing the Chinese culture through their traditional music performances and opera.
Glen view 8 Primary School did not disappoint either as they gave the Zimbabwean tradition a fair representation during the show.
Clad in their traditional animal skin attire, they proudly showcased the muchongoyo dance much to the amusement of the many Chinese and Zimbabwean officials who were among the crowd.
Students from the Zimbabwe College of Music also left their mark at the concert when they fluently sang a Chinese song while dressed in Chinese dresses.
Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Lin Lin applauded the participants and stressed that Zimbabwe and China had a lot to benefit from each in areas of culture and education
“Zimbabwe and China have a rich history dating back to the liberation struggle. Since then, the two countries have been working closely together in a number of areas, something, which we can use to strengthen relations between the two countries,” he said.
Zanu-PF spokesperson Rugare Gumbo, Deputy Minister of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture Lazarus Dokora and Zanu-PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Absolom Sikhosana also graced the occasion.
