Chinese Shanghai Stock Exchange-listed mining firm Hubei JCHX Mining Services Corporation Limited says it is willing to partner with mining learning institutions in countries where it operates to enhance skills development and build local expertise.
This was revealed by JCHX Assistant President Ge Qifa after Zimbabwean media practitioners toured the company’s office complex in Beijing, China.
The company showcased its facilities and mining operations spread across 17 countries, including Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa.
Established in 1997, JCHX was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2015 and has since established a significant presence across the mining value chain.

During his presentation, Mr Qifa said the company had already partnered with the Zambia School of Mines and expressed willingness to pursue similar arrangements in Zimbabwe should the company establish operations in the country.
“There is a labour shortage worldwide and JCHX is one of the contributors not only in upskilling the local workforce and recruiting, but also improving local employment where we operate from. When JCHX enters any local market we hire local workforce,” said Mr Qifa.
Zimbabwe’s Zimbabwe School of Mines is one of the country’s key mining training institutions, playing a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of the nation.
Since its establishment in 1926, the institution has produced skilled mining practitioners who are highly sought after both within the SADC region and internationally.
The tour forms part of the Seminar for Media Professionals of Zimbabwe organised by the Academy for International Business Officials, which operates under the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
Zhemu Soda is leading the Zimbabwean delegation.
So far, the seminar has exposed Zimbabwean media practitioners to China’s development model and global outlook through visits to the Museum of the Communist Party of China, the Great Wall of China, engagements hosted by the China Association of Trade in Services and a tour of the JCHX complex in Beijing.
