THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (Z.R.P) has launched a manhunt for two convicted prisoners who escaped from Mutimurefu Prison in Masvingo yesterday.
The two escapees have been identified as Tafadzwa Janyure Zimirenyika (27) and James Masunda (34).
In a statement, police appealed to members of the public with information that could assist in apprehending the fugitives to report to the nearest police station.
“The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Tafadzwa Janyure Zimirenyika (27) and James Masunda (34).
The two convicted prisoners escaped Mutimurefu Prison on 08th August 2026,” said police.

The ZRP urged members of the public not to approach or confront the escapees if they are spotted, but to immediately alert the police.
