Team leader Dr Harinder Singh Sidhu said the aim of the trip was to exchange ideas with local specialists and assist wherever their services were needed.
He said the doctors would be in Zimbabwe for three days.
Dr Singh Sidhu said his team comprised a neurosurgeon, an orthopaedic and a cancer and renal specialist.
“We will be working together with the local specialists and we also hope to share experiences during the few days we will be in Zimbabwe,” he said.
The doctors will be in Bulawayo today offering free services to patients at Mpilo Central Hospital before returning to Chitungwiza Central Hospital tomorrow.
“We hope this visit will lay the foundation for future working relations with the Zimbabwe healthcare service. In the long term, we hope we will be able to offer both consultation and surgical treatment to the people of Zimbabwe,” Dr Singh Sidhu said.
Chitungwiza Central Hospital matron Miriam Mangeya welcomed the doctors to the hospital.
She said the hospital hoped that the visiting doctors and the locals would be able to tap into each other’s knowledge.
