Police have launched a manhunt for a 45-year-old Chiredzi woman who is wanted in connection with the murder case of a teenage girl who died after trying to terminate a pregnancy.
Chipo Mulauzi allegedly gave the victim an unknown concoction to abort the pregnancy after she had been sexually abused.
The victim later died.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“Police in Chiredzi are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Chipo Mulauzi who is being sought in connection with a case of murder in which a female juvenile aged 15 died on March 9 while admitted at a Chiredzi hospital,” he said.
“The suspect allegedly gave the victim an unknown concoction to terminate a pregnancy after she had been sexually abused.
“The victim got sick after taking the concoction and was admitted at the hospital. Anyone with information can report at the nearest police station.”
