Chitungwiza verifies stands

Chitungwiza municipality, which has been battling double allocations and corruption allegations on the allocation of stands over the past few years has now embarked on an exercise to verify stands issued since 2019.

In a move aimed at bringing sanity in the town, acting Chitungwiza town clerk Dr Tonderai Kasu through a statement said the stands being verified include residential, institutional, industrial and commercial.

“Accordingly, members of the public that purchased the stands falling within the category are being invited, on a case by case basis, for stand verification at Chitungwiza municipality head office.

“You will be required to present to the verification team your offer letter, site plan and any other relevant documents to prove that you are in legal occupation of the said stand and that it was duly offered by Chitungwiza municipality,” he said.
