CHIVAVIRO QUITS CHIPPA, FLIES TO SAUDI ARABIA

JOHANNESBURG. —Ranga Chivaviro, who had a chance to choose to play for the Warriors but settled for Bafana Bafana, is poised to join an unnamed team in Saudi Arabia after turning down a move to join a club in the Betway Premiership.

The former Kaizer Chiefs forward, who was a Zimbabwean primary schoolboy before he settled in South Africa, was set to join Chippa after training with them since last week.

However, KickOff.com has since learnt that the Limpopo-born marksman left the country on Tuesday morning for Saudi Arabia.

According to sources close to the former Amakhosi man, the player has already agreed terms with his new team and is expected to be unveiled before the weekend.

“Ranga has left for Saudi Arabia. He was supposed to sign with Chippa United but got a great offer in Saudi Arabia,” said the source.

“He left for Saudi Arabia this morning. I believe the team is playing in the Second Division in Saudi Arabia.”

Chivaviro is currently a free agent after the Glamour Boys decided against renewing his contract at the end of the 2024/5 season.

He is set to join another South African star, Mohau Nkota, who signed for Al-Ettifaq in the off-season, in that part of the world renowned for lucrative contracts for players.

Furthermore, former Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is currently turning out in the colours of Saudi club Jedda. – KickOff.com
