SEVENTY-NINE babies were born on Christmas Day in Harare and Chitungwiza.

A Chitungwiza Central Hospital official said 31 bouncing babies were born; 24 of them via normal delivery and seven by C-Section.

“We were blessed with 17 boys and 14 girls. One mother gave birth to a set of twins, both girls,” said the official.

At Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, 11 girls and three boys were born, while at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital 34 babies were born.

Meanwhile, former television newscaster, Lee-Ann Bernard, celebrated her 36th birthday on Christmas eve, where the gender of her unborn child was revealed.

Lee-Ann, a mother of two girls and a boy, is expecting a baby boy.

A number of television and radio personalities joined Lee-Ann in Greystone Park for her birthday celebrations.
