ABOUT 11 Harvest House International Church choirs will compete in a “Clash of Hub Choirs” competition taking place at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Grounds on August 31.
The choirs will be drawn from different parts of the country with one group expected from South Africa.
Harvest House International church public relations and marketing officer Philip Phiri said the winning group would walk away with a grand prize of $10,000 while the first and second runner-ups will be awarded with $5,000 and $2,500 respectively.

Phiri said they were giving the groups significant prizes as they want to encourage the choirs to invest the prize money into developing their music careers as choir groups.

“The prize money is likely to go up next year as we want to make this competition bigger year after year,” he said.
Phiri added that the clash of choirs’ competition was meant to promote talent within the church choirs.

Two music veterans from South Africa and Zimbabwe are expected to be guest judges at the competitions.
“We are also expecting Joyous Celebrations’ Lindelani Mkhize and Pastor Charles Charamba to adjudicate the musical contest,” Phiri said.
