Church hosts annual conference

The Exalters of Jesus Christ Ministries International Church (EJCMI) recently held an annual conference at their headquarters in Florida, Mutare under the theme “Glory Realm” with the theme scripture being Isaiah6 v 1-3.

The conference ran from the 10th of December through to the 13th of the same month.

The leader of the ministry Apostle Alfred Jaka, a very senior, respected, well-travelled, but humble minister of the word was excited at his church’s hosting of the conference. The respected clergyman said that the hosting of the conference was done annually and this year’s theme the “Glory Realm” was actually inspired by the desire to achieve two important objectives in the body of Christ.

He said that the church as the body of Christ needed to focus on reclaiming lost glory and to dwell in the glory of God. Apostle Jaka emphasised that the glory of God is not about material things but the essence of God and his fullness in us which brings about godliness and peace among brethren. According to him material things are a by-product of living in this glory and as an example to us Jesus Christ came and lived this glorious life and we are expected to conform t0o his image.

The church was launched in 1995 and has spread to several parts of the country including Masvingo, Gweru, Bocha, Chivi and beyond our borders in South Africa and Mozambique. The man of God also does missionary work in Asia and Europe.

Back to the conference there was an exciting line-up of speakers who included Apostle N E Chaka from Bulawayo, Prophetess Memory Matimbire from Harare, Pastor Moffat from Mozambique and Elder Jonas from South Africa.

Apostle Chaka delivered powerful sermons highlighting that for the glory of God to manifest there first should be a hunger for God in the church. God dwells where he is welcome and he said that it’s time the church learns to hunger for God, attract the presence of God and continuously live in that presence because in the presence of God is everything we desire.

Of importance to note was the powerful prophetic word he released about the hosting church and the rising of the church in Africa. This writer attended some of the services at this conference and was greatly uplifted.

He was also given an opportunity to minister at the conference by Apostle Jaka and went on to highlight that when we dwell in the true glory or presence of God it’s easy for us to realise and confront our weaknesses in true repentance.

We can’t be in the presence of God and remain the same. Those in attendance were also treated to soothing and inspiring music from young and upcoming RnB gospel musicians like Rock Meadou and GGB. Asked about the word for 2016 Apostle Jaka reminded the body of Christ that true rest cannot be found elsewhere except in Jesus Christ.

Economies will continue to decline and hardships will persist but those who dwell in the glory of God will experience true peace which surpasses all understanding.

What else can we say but to say thank you for the word? As the year comes to a close it’s important to remind each other that life has not been easy for us of late in Zimbabwe but all hope is not lost as long as we stop putting our trust in man to help us but to trust in the LORD for a breakthrough and sustenance.

At the same time we need to be sincere in our walk with God.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a merry Christmas and prosperous new year. God bless you all.
