City Bowling win Fours tourney

CITY Bowling Club were crowned overall winners of the Inter -Club bowls Fours tournament held at Alexandra Sports Club on Sunday. City accumulated 15 points and were the only team who didn’t lose a match. They recorded seven wins and one draw to prove the strongest side. On their way to glory they beat Highlands 25-15 before getting their second victory in the win over Alexandra 17-15.

They beat Avondale 17-13 and Borrowdale 25-10. Alexandra came second with 13 points while Avondale settled for third place with 11 points. City Bowling Club manager/player Joyce Kachale said she was impressed by her team’s performance throughout the competition.

“The men did an excellent job on the greens, their performance was awesome, they played very well throughout the tournament. “This was a good tournament,” said Kachale. City men’s team had not won a single trophy since 2000. Alex were the stars of the women’s section and defended their title after beating Avondale 22-14.
