City partners for water metering

The City of Harare, yesterday partnered with Helcraw Electrical Private Limited for water projects, including smart water metering at Morton Jaffray Water Works.

Speaking at the official launch of the partnership, Environmental Management Committee chairperson Councillor Temany Utete said the introduction of water meters will bring about better water supply.

“Smart water meters and infrastructure upgrades today are a significant step forward in our collective endeavor to modernize our city structure and enhance the quality of life for all residence.

“Water, as we all know, is a precious resource, but the challenge we face is managing its distribution and consumption.

“Requiring innovative solutions in collaborative efforts is what we’re getting from the partnership.

“This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to address this challenges by joining forces with Helcraw.

“By joining forces with Helcraw Electrical Private Limited, we are leveraging their species in smart, metering technologies and water managing to bring about for a transformative change on how we monitor manage, and conserve water within the country.” He added:

“I would like to emphasise on the introduction of smart water meters, the introduction of smart water meters will bring about numerous benefits, including accurate and transparent billing, enhanced water conservation in improved efficiency.

“This initiative highlights our commitment to be as smart, sustainable, and resilient city. “We are confident that this partnership will not only improve the water system, but also contribute to a more efficient and responsive city.”
