ALL zanu-PF members should refrain from attending clandestine meetings being held in individuals’ homes as they are aimed at strategising to take over power from the party’s leadership.
This was said by zanu-PF national political commissar, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere during an inter-provincial meeting held in Mutare last Friday attended by all the party’s eight districts.
“Politburo meetings are held in the 14th Floor at zanu-PF Headquarters, Central Committee meetings are held in Harare, provincial meetings are held in respective provinces and the same applies to all party meetings up to the cell. What will you be planning by holding meetings in individuals’ houses? All party meetings should have minutes and where will the minutes come from if meetings are held in people’s houses? You should refuse to be part of these clandestine meetings
“Those losing sleep strategising to take over power from the current leadership should stop it. If you cause problems in the party we will deal with you,” he said.
Cde Kasukuwere hailed Manicaland for overwhelmingly endorsing President Mugabe as the party’s First Secretary and Presidential candidate for 2018.
“President Mugabe has done a wonderful job for the people of Zimbabwe and we will continue rallying behind him even if it means leading from the wheelchair. We don’t vote for people’s ages, but clarity of the mind and this is what we vote for in President Mugabe,” he said.
Cde Kasukuwere also announced the suspension of Manicaland provincial chairperson for the women’s league, Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa for two years in a move that is aimed at bringing to an end the wrangles that were rocking the wing in the province.
During the same meeting, Cde Kasukuwere also announced the appointment of Dr Samuel Undenge as the substantive Manicaland provincial chairman.
“We want discipline in the party. You should not be misled by false prophets who will dump you in your hour of need.
zanu-PF belongs to the people and not individuals,” said Cde Kasukuwere.
On Dr Undenge’s appointment, Cde Kasukuwere said: “The same Politburo meeting resolved that all acting chairpersons be appointed as substantive ones.
“The new chairpersons should not fill all the gaps through co-options.
“We want discipline in the party and we will deal with all transgressors. Kana ukandimaka, kana ukandida Tyson aripano. We should all rally behind the provincial leadership.”
Speaking at the same occasion, Dr Sekeramayi urged members to resolve any disputes amicably.
“We know that disputes can arise, but we should resolve them amicably. We should always say the truth and not hoodwink each other. “As leaders, we should leave behind a legacy of unity and hardworking,” he said.
Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs, Cde Mandi Chimene, said leaders should know that respect is earned.
‘You don’t impose yourself as the leader of the province. We were all told here by Cde Kasukuwere that the leader of the province is Cde Undenge. We should not go around throwing our weight everywhere.
