Gokwe’s Kana Mission has reportedly suspended classes over a Satanism scare after several pupils fell into bizarre trances of hysteria. The scare, which reportedly heightened towards the end of the first term, resurfaced last week after schools opened for the second term.
According to a source, pupils were falling into trances and calling the names of two female teachers at the school.
“Their voices would change and they would call the names of the female teachers and claiming that they wanted blood,” revealed the source.
The source said the two female teachers, who were seeking transfers during the holiday after parents besieged the school baying for their blood, had failed to get the transfers.
“Angry parents besieged the school wanting to beat them up, but the head intervened. They tried to get transfers but they failed and came back, leading to the resurfacing of the scare,” said the source.
Gokwe South District Schools Inspector Mr Raphel Chitsa confirmed receiving such a report, but said the situation had since normalised at the school.
“Yes we received the report and just yesterday we were at the school after we received the reports but we can safely say things are back to normal and classes are going on well,” said Mr Chitsa.
He said the report was based on what transpired last term saying this term everything was going on well at the institution.
