MASHONALAND West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Marian Chombo, says climate change and drug and substance abuse remain major obstacles to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Addressing a provincial workshop for the 2024 Voluntary National Review (VNR) in Chinhoyi yesterday, she called for collaborative efforts to tackle these issues, alongside progress on implementation of the SDGs.
She noted that the province is a major agricultural producer and big player in the mining sector and that economic revival can help address many of the SDGs.
The Government is using a multi-stakeholder approach to undertaking the VNR and is engaging all 10 provinces of the country.
Consultations and engagements prioritise the input of special groups such as persons with disabilities, youth, women and the elderly.
