Blessing Chafesuka
From The Town Clerk’s Desk
HELLO there, hope I find you well!
We meet again at the backdrop of the city’s successful hosting of the 2025 edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo, Zimbabwe’s premier international tourism exhibition from September 10 to 12, 2025. I would like to express my gratitude to our residents and stakeholders for the solidarity and unity of purpose, before, during and after this world premier event.
As a city, we continue with our drive for making sure that our public infrastructure is in good shape despite the serious underfunding for years.
Over the years, the city has faced serious degradation of its road infrastructure due to underfunding.
Up next in our quest to improve the trafficability of our roads is the reconstruction of Railway Street and Bridge Road to complement works that have already been carried out on the heavy truck route and Simon Mazorodze Road. The road works are planned to commence on September 23, 2025 and run till October 10, 2025.
All road users are advised to use alternative routes until the roads are opened to both vehicle and human traffic. The repair of these roads will significantly enhance traffic flow by reducing congestion and making it easier for motorists to navigate the city.
I take this opportunity to encourage our residents and stakeholders to be patient during this period of repairs. Your cooperation will enable us to complete the project efficiently and effectively.
As a city, we are committed to improving our infrastructure, and this project is a step in the right direction. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to completing this project for the benefit of our community.
