A Zvishavane resident, Mr Esau Muguva, has won a brand-new Hyundai i10 in the Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup promotion after purchasing a Coca-Cola brand drink for his wife, Ms Ulitar Sabawa.
The vehicle, sponsored by Delta Corporation, was officially handed over during a colourful ceremony held in Harare this morning.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Delta Corporation General Manager for Corporate Affairs, Mrs Patricia Murambinda, congratulated the couple and encouraged them to make good use of the prize while observing road safety.
“It is a pleasure to be here today as we celebrate a very special handover of the Coca-Cola World Cup promotion vehicle to our deserving winner,” she said.
“Today is about more than receiving the keys to a vehicle. It is about turning an ordinary consumer moment into an extraordinary experience.”
She said Coca-Cola has always had a unique relationship with football and in Zimbabwe, it has been associated with the COPA Coca-Cola games.
“Football brings people together across generations, communities and borders, and the FIFA World Cup captures that spirit perhaps better than any other sporting event,” she said. “Through this promotion, we wanted our consumers to experience some of that excitement, anticipation and possibility here at home.”
Ms Murambinda thanked all consumers who participated in the promotion, thereby giving their brands meaning.
“Today, the World Cup excitement has delivered more than a moment — it has delivered a new journey,” she added.
Mr Muguva said he is quite happy with the gift.
“Basically, I bought the drink for my wife, Ulitar Sabawa, and she consumed it, and I am happy that I won this big prize, and it will help us as a family as far as transport is concerned. This is now my second car since I already have another one at home,” he said.
Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup Coca-Cola promotion is still running and will end on the 31st of this month; hence more people have the chance to win.
